Glenda Burson

Glenda E. McSchooler Burson, 71, of Casey, died at 6 p.m. on Tuesday, February 14, 2012, at Casey Health Care Center.
Born June 29, 1940, in Casey, the daughter of John Wesley McSchooler and Beulah P. Bennett McSchooler, she was a retired telephone operator for Alltel Telephone Co. in Casey and later in Rantoul. She loved Myrtle Beach, and after her retirement, she enjoyed spending as much time as possible on the beach with her children and grandchildren.
Mrs. Burson is survived by a son, Tony A. (Dana) Burson of Clemmons, N.C.; two daughters, Bobbi J. (Steve) Simpson of Morton and Sandy M. Briggs (fiance Jay Markwell) of Casey; three granddaughters, Cori Sander of Morton, Leslie (Shane) Smith of East Peoria and Brittany Briggs of Indianapolis, Ind.; four great-grandchildren, Garrett, Anne and Levi Sander and Cooper Smith; longtime companion and fiance, Rick Roberts of Terre Haute, Ind.; a sister, Marilee (Eddie) Paul of Greenup; a brother, Earl (Lynn) McSchooler of Casey; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; father of her children, Jack Burson; and a brother, Mervin Keith McSchooler.
Services were held at 11 a.m. on Friday, February 17, at Markwell Funeral Home in Casey, with the Rev. Dr. Penelope Barber officiating. Burial was in the Casey Cumberland Cemetery, Casey.
