Don Wade

May 29, 1937 — February 20, 2012

Don L. "Saw Dust" Wade, 74, of Greenup, died at 8:30 a.m. on Monday, February 20, 2012, at his home.

Born May 29, 1937, in Greenup, the son of Rufus and Goldie Hall Wade, he had worked at CCAR in Charleston and for 14 years at Columbia Machine in Mattoon. A retired custodian from Eastern Illinois University, he had served in the U.S. Army, was a member of the Greenup American Legion, enjoyed traveling and was an avid pool player.

Mr. Wade is survived by his wife, Barbara Huddlestun Wade, whom he married on June 4, 1961; two sons, Michael Lee Wade of Greenup and Joe L. Wade of Mattoon; two grandchildren, Jennifer Wade and Ryan Wade of Greenup; two brothers, Jim (Edna) Wade and Kenny (Carolyn) Wade of Greenup; and a sister, Betty Stutzman of Findlay.

He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, Bill and Robert Wade.

Services were held at 10:30 a.m. on Friday, February 24, at the Barkley Funeral Chapel in Greenup. Burial, with military rites conducted by Cumberland County Veterans, was in the Harmony Cemetery rural Greenup.
