Lucille Shoot

Lucille Shoot, 95, of Casey, died at 9 a.m. Saturday, February 18, 2012, at the Heartland Nursing Center in Casey.

Born on February 22, 1916, in Kansas, Ill., the daughter of Everett and Fern Estes McHenry, she was an avid golfer and a life member of the Casey Country Club.

Mrs. Shoot is survived by two sons, John (Norma) Shoot of Casey and Jim (Elaine) Shoot of Charleston; three grandchildren, Kent (Amy) Shoot of Chandler, Ariz., Todd (Jill) Shoot of Quincy and Shelley (Ian) Kerr of Olmsted Falls, Ohio; nine great-grandchildren, Devon and Jarod Shoot of Chandler, Kelsey, Alec, Aaron and Kiley Shoot of Quincy, and Evan, Gavin and Aidan Kerr of Olmsted Falls; two sisters, Hazel Jerling of Chicago and Ruth Ann Short of Paris; and two brothers, Richard McHenry of Bloomington and Dale McHenry of Lafayette, Ind.

She married Dennis Shoot on January 15, 1936, in Ashmore, and he died July 3, 2006. She also was preceded in death by her parents and 11 sisters and brothers.

At her request, no services were held. Memorials may be made to Lincolnland Hospice, Prairie Pavilion II, 1004 Health Center Drive, Suite 202, Mattoon, IL 61938.
