C-W Marching Warriors finish competition season Share Marching Warriors finished their competition season on Saturday, October 10. They attended four competitions this year while marching to a Billy Joel themed show that included selections such as ''We Didn't Start the Fire,'' ''Piano Man,'' ''Air,'' and ''Only the Good Die Young.'' They opened their show at the EIU Panther Marching Band Festival on Saturday, September 26 where they performed after a forty-five minute rain delay. The Marching Warriors placed sixth overall with the percussion section placing seventh, color guard placing fourth and drum majors placing sixth. The second competition of the season was at Robinson where the band marched to a second place finish. Percussion placed second as well and drum majors placed third, while color guard won first in the division. The Marching Warriors swept the Newton Classic the next week and took home first in every division. The same Saturday the band traveled straight from Newton to the Effingham Marching Hearts Invitational where they took first place overall, second place in percussion, third place in flags, and fourth place in drum majors ending their competition season. The Marching Warriors and Band Director, Brent Ritter would like to thank the Band Boosters, band parents, and the community for supporting the band throughout their season.
