Greathouse of Pizza is Chamber Business of the Month

Share

The Casey Chamber of Commerce has chosen the Greathouse of Pizza as the Business of the Month for September.

Since opening the business in August 2008, Trent Groothuis has given the building a look of its own with sports memorablia added to the walls. Trent is actually in the process of purchasing the building from the former Joe's Pizza owners and plans to remodel over the next year. More parking has already been added to the rear of the building.

New items have been added to the menu throughout the past year and more items are in the offing including Chicaga style pizza, which will be offered as soon as the new menus are printed. Recently, a salad bar was added for the convenience of the customers and employees.

All menu items are made from scratch, from Trent's own recipes or that of his family. A luncheon buffet is available Tuesday through Friday from 11 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. and Sunday from 11 to 2. For dine-in customers, a different dinner special is offered nightly including Spaghetti Night every Tuesday. Trent said the Sunday buffet, which he just started offering a few months ago, has gone over well. The restaurant is now closed on Sunday evenings and all day on Monday.

In addition to pizza, several varieties of hot sandwiches are listed on the menu, including his dad Nik Groothuis's Italian Beef, to which Trent has added his own personal flavor. Nik's homemade Catalina dressing is still a staple on the salad bar.
