Casey softball was well represented Sunday when the Casey Softball Hall of Honor celebrated the induction of new members at the Casey Softball Museum and Hall of Honor. Master of Ceremonies John McDaniel hosted the affair with assistance from Present LeRoy Staley and Secy-Treas. Joe Snedeker. Many former members of the Casey Truckers softball team were in attendance along with their wives and other family members. Following the induction ceremony for this year's inductees, Buster Fuller, Mark Fuller, Mike Nichols, Dave Sparks, George Easton and Dara Throneburg Updegraff, special recognition was given to Sandy Anderson Winnett and her brother, Jack Anderson, children of the late Ted Anderson, often considered the father of Fast Pitch Softball in the Casey area. He sponsored the ''Red Onion Tavern'' team in the early '30s. Her personally bought and installed a lighting system in Fairview Park even before the major leagues put in their first light park at Cincinnati. Receiving flowers and recognition were Judy Budd, wife of the late Larry Budd, and Shirley Simmons, wife of the late Bob Simmons. Pres. LeRoy Staley presented Judy Higginbotham and Janet Snedeker with flowers for the hoursthey have given to Casey Softball.

Bobbie Simpson won Cardinal baseball tickets and $50, and Steve Voris won $84 In the 50/50 drawing, which he donated back to Casey Softball. Bobbie Simpson also donated his $50 winnings back to the association. Three mums were also given away. Following the ceremony, many visitors took the opportunity to visit the museum.
