Salukis get needed win Share
The Red Hill High School varsity football team kept their momentum going for a 37-0 win in Oblong on Friday night. The decisive victory also contributed to the record that the Salukis hope will work in their favor for a place among teams in the Little Illini Conference playoffs. The victory gave them a 3-4 record in the conference (4-4 overall). Neither team scored in the first quarter. However, the Salukis' Trevor Albertson made the second quarter his, scoring twice in the time frame. Along with Tony Theriac's nine-yard run, Albertson drove in the score with 8:25 remaining on the clock. Lucas Hahn carried the ball in for the next touchdown with 2:42 on the clock. Cody Lewis' run made the extra points. Then, with only 17 seconds left, Albertson again scored with Lewis' additional run for points.

The third quarter was highlighted by 19-yard touchdown pass from Eli Latch to Robert Young with 3:12 on the clock. Tim Bergst made the extra point kick good. With 8:33 still in the game, Albertson capped off the night with a one-yard touchdown run. Albertson had a total of 111 rushing yards from 13 attempts. He made 103 receiving yards from three throws and 20 punting yards. Lewis added up 52 rushing yards, while Latch had 46, Theriac 39, and Hahn 34. Overall, Red Hill had 282 net yards rushing, while Oblong had 29. The Salukis followed through with 6 of 12 passes for 202 net yards, while Oblong made 10 of 25 for 109 passing yards. Young had 67 receiving yards, while Hahn had 32. Defensively, Anders Ericksen led the team with five solo attacks. In eight games, Albertson has led the team in scoring with 34. He has also been the season leader with 188 receiving yards. Theriac has dominated rushing yards with 361. The Dawgs trail their opponents in scoring by just 15.5 points, compared to 17.4 overall.
