Seventh grade girls basketball team claims championship in Robinson Invitational Share
The Red Hill Jr. High School seventh grade girls basketball team claimed the championship title of the Robinson Invitational on Saturday. The Miss Salukis landed the top spot by defeating three teams, Jasper County, Robinson and Lawrenceville. On Tuesday, Sept. 29, Red Hill had their first victory of the tournament against Jasper County (Newton), 26-20. Red Hill outscored their opponents 10-6 in the first half and held the lead, scoring 8-4 in the third quarter. Brittany Fiscus led the team with 12 points, while Mackenzie Wolfe and Morgan Inyart both added six points. Cassie Stine contributed two.

On Thursday, Oct. 1, Red Hill defeated Robinson, 29-7. Red Hill broke through the net, outscoring the home team, 8-0, in the first quarter. The Miss Salukis continued the scoring spree, 6-1, in the second quarter. Then, in the third quarter, Red Hill blanked their opponents, 10-0. Robinson rallied too late in the fourth quarter to top Red Hill 6-5. Scorers for Red Hill were: Wolfe, 8; Fiscus, 6; Morgan Tewell and Stine, 4 each; Anna Neal, 3; Darah Bennett and Inyart, two each. On Saturday, the Miss Salukis defeated Lawrenceville, 30-6, in the championship game. Red Hill blanked Lawrenceville in the first half, 9-0 and 5-0. In the second half, Red Hill outscored the neighboring team, 10-2 and 6-4. Scorers for Red Hill were: Wolfe, 12; Bennett and Baelee Holloway, 4 each; Neal, Inyart, Fiscus, Tewell and Stine, two apiece.
