Lawrence County youth collected estimated record earnings from their projects in the 4-H Livestock Auction on Thursday, July 30. Despite a poor economy, area bidders were ''generous'' with their funds as Parrott's Auction Service rallied support for the local youth.

There were 16 swine shown for the auction. Katie Jones had the Grand Champion Market Hog, weighing in at 336-pounds. Robinson Grain won the bid with $500. Cody Lewis' Reserve Champion Market Hog also won a $500 bid from Lonnie Bennett Farms. Jacob Tabler kept his project in the family as Jeremy Tabler won the high bid of $850 for his 223-pound entry.
