School Bus Accident East Of Marshall
A Marshall school bus driver is reported to have crashed a bus about 7:45 a.m. after having a heart attack.
A Marshall school bus driver is reported to have crashed a bus about 7:45 a.m., as a result of suffering a heart attack. Twenty-three students were on the bus.
The bus was traveling west on Rt. 40 and ran off the road into a ditch, approximately one-half mile east of Marshall.
A few students went home after the accident, but most went to school.
Responding to the accident were Marshall Police, Illinois State Police, Clark County Sheriff's officers, and Marshall medical personnel.
The bus driver was pronounced dead at Union Hospital. Counselors were provided, as needed, for students.
