ERBA accepting applications for STEP and LIHEAP

The Embarras River Basin Agency, Inc., (ERBA) is accepting applications for its Skills Training Employment Program (STEP) to assist individuals with training for employment opportunities.

ERBA will assist income-eligible individuals who want to obtain a CDL license or CAN certificate. The program is offered through the Community Services Block Grant funding through the Illinois Department of Commerce and Economic Opportunity.

ERBA also continues to accept applications for its Low Income Home Energy Assistance Program (LIHEAP).

Households that received program assistance since September 2011 are not eligible for additional benefits.

Required documents include: Energy bills in the name of the person applying, as well as Social Security cards for all in the household, proof of income for every household member for the past 30 days, a recent copy of a utility bill, a Medical card, if applicable, and a rent receipt, if applicable.
